Early Childhood Education and Assistance Program (ECEAP)
Early Childhood Education and Assistance Program (ECEAP) is a state funded program. It serves low-income children and their families through high quality preschool programs as well as comprehensive services for both children and their families, at no cost
CCCC is the ECEAP Grantee for Whitman County, we offer programs in Pullman, Colfax, Endicott, Garfield, Palouse, Rosalia, St. John, and Tekoa. In Colfax, we offer full day sessions, 10 months (M-Th, 8:00-3:00). In Pullman at St. James, we offer full year, extended day (M-F, 7:30-5:30). In Pullman at Greyhound Way and all other sites, we provide half-day preschool sessions both morning or afternoon, (Monday - Thursday, 9 months).

Preschool Education
Our focus is on building a broad foundation of school readiness skills in children ages 3 – 5 years old in the following areas: approaches to learning, social and emotional development, language and literacy, cognition, and physical development.
Comprehensive Screening/Assessments

Individualized curriculum

We ensure that each child receives proper follow-up or outside referrals based on the results mentioned above.
Children's Health and Wellness

Program staff ensure children receive medical and dental appointments, and appropriate vaccinations

Program staff promote good oral health through having each child brush teeth after a meal during the program day

CCCC Serves nutritious meals/snacks during program hours

CCCC can assist with mental health services for children and families, as needed

Program staff promotes physical activity, both indoors and outdoors, for children
Family Services are based upon developing family partnership

Development of Family goals. Parents work with program staff to identify strengths, needs, and interests of the family to develop family and personal goals. Outside resources, supports, and assistance for parents in accessing available community resources are provided. Families receive individual support and follow up through the year.

Home visits and parent teacher conferences. Families meet with program staff four times through the year, becoming an integral partner in their child’s educational progress and discussing their family’s personal progress.

Parent involvement and leadership. A variety of activities, volunteer opportunities, and parenting programs are provided, including child and community advocacy, participation on Policy Council, Executive Board, and Parent Center Committees, and other leadership and training opportunities.
